One of the great advantages of global connectivity is the ease of traveling to a space where the intellectual and artistic productions of millions of people are exhibited. And so art galleries become gigantic, visiting them being a constant human adventure. The virtual labyrinth appears as a world laboratory where the viewer witnesses an anthropological experience unthinkable until a few years ago. The visionary André Malraux, foreshadowed the immense contemporary network in his essay „Le Musée Imaginaire” from 1947, where he describes a confrontation of metamorphoses, a concert of contradictory melodies, which marks the intellectualization of our relationship with art. This confrontation of contradictions is an awareness of the search for all that is possible in art, of a recreation of the universe that gives the highest idea of ​​man. For Malraux, man recreates the world before God, and through art he conquers the meaning of his life against oblivion and death. However, it is the imaginary museum that calls all the masterpieces to mind, so that looting and tourism are limited. A museum is the result of chance, it is a mutilated possibility. The artistic journey relies on optical memory, which is not infallible.

But today, thanks to photography, it is possible to have the works of all civilizations at our disposal. Therefore, it becomes possible to compare all works.

In a quasi-total freedom, I searched the internet for visual creation labeled #metamorphosis. We discover a wide range of concepts and ideas, some having no connection with this term that comes from the ancient Greek – μεταμόρφωσις (metamórphōsis) < composed of μετα (metá, „after”) + μορφή (morphḗ, „form”). In biology, it refers to a complete change of form through successive transformative stages in an organism’s lifetime, such as the miraculous journey from caterpillar to butterfly. The term also has magical connotations that refer to „transformations of being” and inner psychological identity as described in Ovid’s epic poem of the same name, in which the interconnectedness of humanity and the natural world is brought to life through mythological form-shifting and psychological.

In art, metamorphosis is an important subject, bringing the obsessive attraction that opens wide the field of creation.

In this article I have made a selection of the many images that attempt an aesthetic or descriptive outline of the change in appearance, character, circumstances and resulting forms.

Metamorfoza, în viziuni artistice contemporane

Unul dintre marile avantaje ale conectării globale, este uşurinta de a călători într-un spaţiu unde sunt expuse producţiile intelectuale şi artistice ale milioanelor de oameni. Şi astfel galeriile de artă devin gigantice, vizitarea lor fiind  o aventură umană constantă. Labirintul virtual apare ca un laborator mondial unde  spectatorul asistă la o experienţă antropologică de neconceput pană acum câţiva ani.  Vizionarul  André Malraux, a prefigurat imensa reţea contemporană în eseul sau “Le Musée Imaginaire” din 1947, unde descrie o confruntare de metamorfoze, un concert de melodii contradictorii, care marchează intelectualizarea relației noastre cu arta. Această confruntare a contradicțiilor este o conștientizare a căutării a tot ceea ce este posibil în artă, a unei recreații a universului care dă cea mai înaltă idee despre om. Pentru Malraux, omul recreează lumea în fața lui Dumnezeu, iar prin artă cucerește sensul vieții sale împotriva uitării și morții. Totuși, muzeul imaginar este cel care cheamă toate capodoperele în minte, pentru ca jafurile și turismul să fie limitate. Un muzeu este rezultatul întâmplării, este o posibilitate mutilată. Călătoria artistică se bazează pe memoria optică, care nu este infailibilă.

Dar astăzi, datorită fotografiei, este posibil să avem la dispoziție operele tuturor civilizațiilor. Prin urmare, devine posibilă compararea tuturor lucrărilor.

Într-o libertate cvasi-totală, am căutat oferta de creaţie vizuală de pe internet etichetată #metamorphosis. Descoperim o paletă largă de concepte şi idei, unele neavând nici o legatură cu acest termen care vine din greaca veche- μεταμόρφωσις (metamórphōsis) < compus din μετά (metá, „după”) + μορφή (morphḗ, „formă”). În biologie, se referă la o schimbare completă a formei prin etape transformatoare succesive în durata de viață a unui organism, cum ar fi drumul  miraculos de la omidă la fluture. Termenul are, de asemenea, conotații magice care se referă la „transformările ființei” și identitatea psihologică interioară, așa cum sunt descrise în poemul epic omonim al lui Ovidiu, în care interconectivitatea umanității și a lumii naturale este adusă la viață prin schimbarea formei mitologice și psihologice.

În artă, metamorfoza este un subiect important, aducând atracţia obsesivă ce deschide larg cămpul creaţiei.
