The water mirror of Bordeaux is the largest reflecting pool in the world, with an area of \u200b\u200bmore than 3,000 square meters. The reflecting pool is made of granite slabs covered with 2 cm of water, and a system allows it to create water and mist every half hour during the warm season. It is located along the river, right in front of one of the city&#8217;s main squares, with the palaces reflecting in: it has become the new landmark of the city&#8217;s urban regeneration that has been taking place since the beginning of the 21st century.<\/p>\n<p>The concept of this masterpiece of urban landscaping is a visual metaphor of a Venetian phenomenon called &#8222;L&#8217;acqua alta&#8221; &#8211; The high water (also called &#8222;Acqua Granda&#8221;), a phenomenon that occurs mainly between autumn and spring, when the astronomical tides are strengthened by the prevailing seasonal winds that prevent the usual ebb. The main winds involved are the sirocco, which blows north along the Adriatic Sea, and the bora, which has a specific local effect due to the shape and location of the Venetian lagoon. The water level in the city rises and the tears of the sea cover the feet of passers-by up to the knees or even higher.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<style The monumental French work makes us escape from the anxious universal of the infinite and incurable beauty of the lagoon and places us between the water and the sky, in a space that recalls the ancient Roman nobility and their passion for water, accompanied by highly efficient technical achievements.<\/p>\n<p>Bordeaux&#8217;s Water Mirror is strategically located between the Garonne River and the Place de la Bourse, in such a way that it fully reflects the characteristic facades of the 18th-century buildings that surround it.
